I had my heart set on a stripe midi dress. Don't ask me why, but it just seemed like it would be the perfect summer staple. Turns out, it transitions well as cooler months are upon us. I picked up this jacket at Anthropologie and I have a feeling I'm going to be wearing it all the time. It's the perfect weight, and SO soft! It feels almost like a slightly heavier chambray shirt, great for layering.

I bought this jumpsuit with big plans to wear it on our honeymoon. Turns out, Italy was hot as hell and I could only wear short and light dresses (I know, poor me). Either way, I'm still excited to pull this goodie out of the closet to run around on a nice summer evening. For me, this is the perfect combo of comfort while still being sexy. It's straight up like wearing pajamas on the bottom, but still shows a little shoulder up top. My only complaint is the weird fabric gathering around my booty, but that could be a personal problem. Also, this bag. When I was in college, I made a pact with my best girl friends that when each of us got married... instead of buying each other a blender, we would buy each other a designer item. Something I thought to be funny and not actually happening, turned out to have been a GREAT idea for a silly college pact. Meet my friend, Louis. He will be joining me on lots of new adventures. Yup, I did it. I bought Firkenstocks (fake Birkenstocks)... from Target. Can you blame me? They are beyond comfortable and I love the cute studs on the side to add a bit of sparkle. I also have been pretty into the comfort meets cute that Madewell offers. This swinging tank I found on sale there is the perfect staple for my summer wardrobe (beware big gusts of wind, however). I was also pretty happy to find this hat at Target before I made the jump into the J.Crew panama hat. I felt like this was a good substitute that definitely does the trick. I threw this outfit on for a nice walk around the Madison farmer's market and brunch with friends. Did anyone have any awesome summer plans this weekend?

VICTORY. My hair is finally long enough again to start doing more braided styles without pieces falling out everywhere. Oh... maybe you're not excited. I do this thing where every time I start to grow my hair long, I panic and cut it off. So far, so good folks. I'm also pretty excited that I am finally wearing sandals, especially these! Nordstrom just priced matched these Steve Madden sliders so they are a pretty solid deal for something I'm sure to be found wearing all summer. I love the touch of gold, but easy every day style. In addition to these shoes, there are a lot of sales going on right now with almost my entire outfit. This is my second pair of these BDG jeans from Urban Outfitters, I can't get enough of the high waist and fitted look. Madewell has a sale on their sale right now, so go pick yourself up some delicate gems. You can pick up my peplum at Gap for 40% off right now! And finally, I've got to mention my backpack. Did I buy it because it's trendy right now, or because I'm getting older and find it extremely convenient and comfortable? Not sure.

H&M is one of those places where it's a hit or miss for me, I go in phases. Last time I stopped by, I found this awesome shirt and couldn't wait to take it home. The print and structure sold me. I also found this kimono in a similar print that has some serious potential. I've also been wearing these jeans from Gap pretty constantly. For some reason, I feel like this color wash is always more comfortable and has a little extra softness. They were the perfect jean for running around this weekend with Ben. Did everyone have a good Valentine's Day?

It makes me sound like a kiddo when I say I asked for new tennis shoes for Christmas, but that's what happened. When most of my list consisted of wedding decor and sparklers this year, my brother jumped at the one exciting thing from my wish list. I love these new Nike Flyknits! You really could wear them without socks just based on their comfort, but then watch out for stanky feet :) I love that I can wear sneakers anywhere and with essentially any outfit, and it's acceptable. I'll be honest, I picked these out based solely on the fact that I thought they were cute. They are, however, pretty awesome for working out as well. I take a circuit class weekly that these are perfect for feeling light on your feet.

Oh, silly blogging. I took some time this week to look back on a year of blogging. It is definitely a good reminder of what I enjoy about it, and why I created this blog. I have been posting less lately and making sure that I really am doing this for the right reasons. The blogging world is overflowing with talented and amazing people, but it also is filled with a large focus on a materialistic world. In a time that every hashtag is added with hopes of more followers, and your instagram feed is stuffed with staged photos, sometimes you need to take a step back. So, I will still be blogging, but just refreshing myself and making sure you know that everything I post is truly about who I am.

 My favorite way to keep warm is by layering up, but when your outfit is a full sweater- that's pretty much all you need. I'm fairly certain these pants were meant to be pajama bottoms, but they were too cute not to wear all day.
