the skinny.

I feel like I have
been on constant hunt for the perfect jeans. I am super jazzed that skinny
jeans are still in the mix for a stylish option, because I find them to be
quite flattering and easy to wear. I lean towards a medium to dark wash...if
you can wear jeans to work, I recommend a darker wash for a slightly dressier
look. These are my picks for favorite styling of skinny's at a variety of
"affordable" price points, now I just need to try them on!
The first thing you
have to decide.. what to spend. I chose a range that I feel is realistic for a
decent pair of jeans. The top row is under $100 while the bottom row is over
$100. I think it is sometimes hard to tell the difference in quality between
denim, especially when they are not laying side by side. My biggest focus when
finding the right pair of jeans is the quality of the fit on your body. That is
the only thing that will make me pay that extra dollar. More money does
not always mean higher quality, so don't just throw money at a pair that
doesn't fit you correctly.
So, the hunt begins. I really don't think there is a secret tip to buying jeans, but if there is...please let me know!

I swear by J.Crew jeans, even from their factory stores. They have sales quite often and are a great investment piece. Seriously, the wear from them are so beautiful and soft, that I couldn't dream of ever actually ditching a pair of my numerous denim.
ReplyDeletegood tip, Tomissa! Got to watch those sales for sure.

I used to work in a jeans store, and we sold anything from $75 to $300 jeans.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a secret, but I think a lot of it comes down to trying on a ton and eventually, you'll figure out what works for you. I can often tell before trying them on what jeans will potentially work.
I have a mixture of high and low end jeans, and usually the higher end ones win because the materials feel amazing.
